ExDeploy Steps Revisited
I'm currently in theprocess ofcoming up with a planto doan in-place upgrade from Exchange 2000 Standard to Exchange 2003 Enterprise. Before the upgrade, the components Microsoft Mobile Information Server, Instant Messaging Server, Exchange Chat Service,Exhchange 2000 Conferencing Server, Key Management Service, cc: Mail connector and MS Mail connector have tobe removed because they are not supported in Exchange Server 2003.Can these components be removed weeks before the upgrade without affecting theevery day E-Mailoperation of the current Exchange 2000 Server and Outlook Web Access?

Hi, I think that we cannot predict any unexpected issue occur, in order to insure the normal email flow, Id like to recommend you to install Exchange 2003 on another computer and then move all the mailbox to the new installed Exchange 2003 Server. Besides, Id like to share below document with you: Upgrading from Exchange Server Standard Edition to the Enterprise Edition http://support.microsoft.com/kb/170280 Regards, Xiu
