Events missing from Public Folders calendar
Migration from SBS2003 to SBS2008 / Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007. Migration completed (per Microsoft support). 2003 Server uninstalled Exchange and removed from domain. Some calendar events are missing from one of the Public Folders calendars. I have a print out of a calendar taken before the migration that shows events that are no longer visible on the calendar. I can see the missing events in Symantec Backup Exec from as most recent as the last backup on Friday. Regular users and Administrator users cannot see the events - both in Outlook and Web Access. Created a new user with Administrator access - can't see the events.

After Microsoft Partner Support told us to finish with the migration (which removes Exchange fromt the 2003 server and makes the 2003 server unusable - 21 day window) they suggested this tedious trial: Action plan # 1 – If we have a backup of the sbs2003 server. 1. Restore the 2003 server on a test machine (off the LAN - you can use a NIC cable and hub to make it boot faster, but do not let it on same network as 2008. otherwise since it is past 21 days - they will start rebooting every hour) 2. On the 2003 server, backup or copy the missing calendar items. or, logon and export the calendar to PST 3. Copy items to 2008, or restore PST on 2008. 4. Now you can verify the items on 2008 are there and decommission the test 2003 machine again Action plan # 2 – In case if we don’t have a backup of sbs2003 server. 1.We will have to configure a recovery server to mount the old database(Exchange Database) on. 2.Which means installing a new server, dcpromoing it with the correct domain name, installing exchange with the correct organization name, mounting the db, connecting a user to the old admin mailbox, configuring an outlook profile, browsing the calendar and exporting to pst.
