Event id 1025
I have a File server and would like to configure email notification on this server. On the file server resource manage options, i'm entering our exchange 2010 server address under the server name field. When I send a test email its failing. On my email server event viewer, i see event id 1025. SMTP rejected (P1) mail from 'test@xxx.com' with 'default test' connector and the user autheticated as 'xxx\test$', The active directory lookup for the sender address returned validation errors. Is the account you are using to test it with mail enabled? If not, test it with a mail enabled account as both the From field and the authentication. Simon.Simon Butler, Exchange MVP Blog | Exchange Resources | In the UK? Hire Me.

Your file server is trying to use your exchange server as an smtp relay and by default the exchange server will not allow this. To add your file server to the allow list try the following 1)In the Exch Management console, expand server configuration and select hub transport 2) in the upper window select the exchange server you want to relay through and in the lower window under receive connectors double click on Internal Relay 3) On the Internal Relay Properties box select the Network tab 4) Under Receive Mail from Remote servers with these addresses add the IP address of your file server 5) apply settings Your file server should now have permissions to send SMTP messages to your exchange server JohnM
