Event ID 9325 - Exchange 2007 on Non Exchange 2007 User
Hi Guys,
I hope you can help me?
I am receiving about 20 Event ID 9325 everytime the OAB is updated. On investigation the errors are on users who are not in our exchange 2007 system but do have an AD account.
How do I stop the error from happening?
OALGen will skip user entry 'Charlie Sharp' in address list '\Global Address List' because the SMTP address '' is invalid.

Thanks
John.

Hi,
Its to ignore but to resolve this you can check the windows mail address property of that user to see its a legal address.
These are the things that Exchange verifies when generating the OAB.
Exchange verifies that the user account has an SMTP proxy address. Exchange verifies that a Unicode SMTP domain exists. Exchange validates the SMTP domain. In this validation operation, Exchange verifies that the first character of the SMTP domain is greater than a lowercase forward slash (/) character. This occurs to make sure that no invalid characters appear in the SMTP
domain name. Exchange verifies that a primary SMTP proxy address exists. Exchange parses the proxy addresses to locate the primary SMTP proxy address that matches at least the first part of the e-mail address. This occurs to verify that the address is compatible with Microsoft Outlook code.
Exchange verifies that the primary SMTP proxy address matches the e-mail address. This includes determining whether the SMTP address contains the at sign (@).

Hi Timmy,
In the user AD account there is nothing in the e-mail address field.

Than I suggest to fill in the e-mail address field... It should be the same as the UPN (User Principal Name).
Re-generate or wait till the next generation of the OAB and check if the error still occurs for that specific user.

Hi john,
It is just a message that it skips a user when adding people to the addressbook.
If you fill it in or not it will still be skipped because it will fail on other pre-requisites.
You can try to fill it in and see what it does or just ignore the messages.
But you know now why it skips those users and why the Events are generate.
