Event ID 2152 MSExchangeADAcess Catogery: Devices
Hi, I have problem while installing Exchange 2007 in a Memberserver 2k3 64 bit machine. While installtion when ReadynessCheck occurs: Setup fails and throws an error: The specified configuration file could not be loaded on an XML Document Root Element is missing. In the Event Viewr: Event ID 2152 MSExchangeADAcess Catogery: Devices The local computer may not have the necessary registry information ro message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE=flag to retrieve this description; see Help and support for details. The following information is part of the event: ExSetupUI.exe, 3656, 1753, Error 6d9 from HrGetServersForRole. Note: DC: Win2k3 32bit System, Memeber Exchange: 64bit Win2k3-- Whether is this giving any problem Kindly give a Solution for this error. Thanks Manivannan.L

This is an RPC failure, due to DNS configuration errors or more likely COM permission restrictions. Try this (which assumes the admin account you were using for the install is configured to use local profiles): Log onto the machine using another account with admin permissions on the local machine. Delete the profile of the admin account you were using to do the install. Reboot the machine Logonusing the admin account you were originally using to do the install, thus creating a new local profile. Run setup again. Let me know if this fixes it.

This 'common error' text as you put it, is because there is no Event Viewer message decode resource registered with the Event Viewer service for the source MSExchangeADAccess at this stage in the procedings.This is afterall a setup program and should not be chucking things in the Event log willy nilly but never mind that. You can look up the text and placeholders for Event 2152at the Microsoft Events and Error Message Centre site and decode it manually. That will give you this text foryour error, complete with bad grammar: Process ExSetupUI.exe (PID=3656). An remote procedure call (RPC) request to the Microsoft Exchange Active Directory Topology service failed with error 1753 (Error 6d9 from HrGetServersForRole). Make sure that the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service is running. In addition, make sure that the network ports that are used by RPC are not blocked by a firewall. You will no doubt find there is nothing wrong with the RPC service. The actual problem is due to a bug or over zealous security fudge related to the administrator's local profile and/or the .NET framework upon which the setup program relies. The usual fix is as follows (which assumes the admin account you were using for the install is configured to use local profiles): Log onto the machine using another account with admin permissions on the local machine. Delete the profile of the admin account you were using to do the install. Reboot the machine (IMPORTANT: Do not skip this step). Logon using the admin account you were originally using to do the install, thus creating a new local profile. Run setup again. Hope this helps.
