Event ID 1007 and 1084
Hi, I am wondering if someone can help me find the source of this error in the eventlog. We use Terminal Server with about 55 users logged in throughout the day. I noticed this morning my eventlog filled up pretty fast with the following errors: First: aspnet_wp.exe could not be started. The error code for the failure is 80004005. This error can be caused when the worker process account has insufficient rights to read the .NET Framework files. Please ensure that the .NET Framework is correctly installed and that the ACLs on the installation directory allow access to the configured account. And then immediately right after... Second: aspnet_wp.exe could not be launched because the username and/or password supplied in the processModel section of the config file are invalid. The main thing for me is how can I pinpoint what application is trying to load this all the time? Could it be a service? I can't really do much more without knowing what is trying to use it. I could perhaps reinstall .NET 1.1 but that to me should be a last resort. Any help is appreciated, thanks! Trevor

Trevr, This appears to be an IIS issue, so you might have more luck posting this in a Windows forum. Since you are using Terminal Services, do you have IIS (Web Service or IIS Admin) running on this server? Do you have a reason to have these services running? If not, I would disable them. It won't solve the problem, but it will probably make it go away. It looks like IIS is trying to do something and is running in to permissions issues, but if you don't need IIS then there is no reason for this process to be kicked off.
