EventID 9667 exchange 2k3 SP2, What's happening to emails?
Hi, I just this morning noticed that we've been getting a couple (10 a day-ish) EventID 9667 on our Exchange 2003 SP2. Failed to create a new named property for database "First Storage Group\Mailbox Store (MAILSRV)" because the number of named properties reached the quota limit (8192). User attempting to create the named property: "USERNAME" Named property GUID: 00020386-0000-0000-c000-000000000046 Named property name/id: "X-996k" now i've found how to rectify this but i'm struggeling to find information on what's actually happening to these emails/named properties that the Event Viewer are showing me. Does anyone here know if it's just: *Not putting the property names in the table and still delivering the email (no users have complained of missing emails so far, all my test emails have been working just fine) *Deleting the email not sending any non-delivery reports *Deleting the email with non-delivery report sent. *Something completely different? I just can not find any info on this, any help would be nice. As I said before, it's a question of what's happening to the emails, not how to fix the problem (which I already know and will sort at next maintenance window) Much appreciated noternet

It will bounce the message with a NDR. It will look like this: From: System Administrator Sent: August 30, 2010 9:30 AM To: John Doe Subject: Let's meet Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients. Subject: Let's meet at Noon Sent: 8/30/2010 9:30 AM The following recipient(s) cannot be reached: Jane Doe on 3/30/2009 9:30 AM The message reached the recipient's e-mail system, but delivery was refused. Attempt to resend the message. If it still fails, contact your system administrator. <serverName.FQDN #5.2.1 > DJ Grijalva | MCITP: EMA 2007/2010 | www.persistentcerebro.com

this will happen as well: Any MAPI clients, such as Microsoft Office Outlook, that attempt to create named properties may receive the error code 0x80040900 (-2147219200 in decimal). This error code corresponds to MAPI_E_NAMED_PROP_QUOTA_EXCEEDED. This error is typically received when the user attempts to send a new message or save a new message in the user's Drafts folder. cheers thiyaguThiyagu | MCTS/MCITP - Exchange 2007 | MCSE 2003[Messaging] | http://www.myExchangeWorld.com.
