Error while installing Interorg replication tool between Exchange 2007 forest
As i confirmed that Interorg replication is compatible with Exchange 2007. I had settings it up on my production server as below:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee307369(EXCHG.80).aspx
Forest A
Exchange 2007 SP2 running on Windows Server 2008
Forest B
Exchange 2007 SP1 running on Windows Server 2003.
I would like to replicate public folder from Forest A to Forest B. I'm run the Exscfg.exe on member server runnning on Windows Server 2003, installed with Exchange 2007 Management Tools and Exchange Messaging API(MAPI) client libraries and Collaboration
Data Objects (CDO) version 1.21
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=E17E7F31-079A-43A9-BFF2-0A110307611E&displaylang=en
I'm able to ping NETBIOS and FQDN of Exchange in Forest B and vice versa.
I'm able to setup the configuration file without problem (Exscfg.exe). My problem happened when tried to install Exssrv.exe, error message appeared as below:
An incompatible version of EMSMDB32.dll was detected. To correct this, please reinstall the Exchange System Management to install corrent version
EMC version which installed on member servers is 08.01.0240.006
Please advice..thank

EMSMDB32.dll isn't installed on Exchange 2007. That's a 32-bit piece
of software and Exchange 2007 is 64-bit.
The version of EMSMDB32.DLL installed on an up-to-date Exchange 2003
server is 6.5.7654.12.
I think you may have Outlook installed on the machine. It has it's own
version of that DLL.

There is not MS Outlook installed on this member server only listed Outlook Express on Start menu program. Should i remove it? One more thing, this member server previously was configured as Front End Server Exchange 2003. After we completely introduced
new Exchange 2007, we run uninstall FE Exchange 2003 roles and now its acts just a normal member server.
EMC which i installed was Exchange Managemnt Tool 32bits, it is ok?
Please advice to solve this problem

Sorry. I thought the version number you cited was for EMSMDB32.DLL. I
reread the message and you were giving the build number for the EMC.
Remove the Exchange 2007 management tools. Install the Exchange 2003
management tools. Then try installing the IORT.

yes, after reinstall Exchange Management Tool 2003, and On a non-Exchange server that has the Exchange 2007 System Management Tools and the Exchange Messaging API (MAPI) client libraries and Collaboration Data Objects (CDO) version 1.21.
is not TRUE..right
System Requirements
Computers that will host the Inter-Organization Replication Configuration tool and the Replication service should be joined to a Windows domain and must meet the following operating system requirements:
Microsoft Windows 2000 Server Service Pack 3 or a 32-bit version of Windows Server 2003 with any service pack.
Windows Server 2008 is not supported.
Additionally, Exchange Server or the Exchange Management Tools must be installed.
For example, you can install the Inter-Organization Replication Configuration tool on the following configurations:
On a server that is running Exchange Server 2003 with Service Pack 2
On a non-Exchange server that has the Exchange 2003 System Management Tools
On a non-Exchange server that has the Exchange 2007 System Management Tools and the Exchange Messaging API (MAPI) client libraries and Collaboration Data Objects (CDO) version 1.21.
so i'm able to run Exssrv.exe however there is another error when try to start Exchange Replication service.
Error:
Unable to access the Service Control Manager.
Based on Inter Org Replication Tool Guide, said that the account should have the right to:
Let Log on Locally Logon as service
Should i edit the Domain policy and assign permission the account? Please advice

Wouldn't it be smarter to change just the local policy? Either way,
you need those rights on the account you're using.

You can make the account a member of the local administrators group,
but doing that is really a policy choice you have to make.

So, what is the recommended way to assign permission to the account?

You assign rights by applying policies.
You run the e-mail server. Is it your company's policy to have service
accounts as members of the local administrators group? Or is your
policy to assign rights as needed to those accounts? The choice is
yours.

last question:
when i did sync the folder let say from \FolderCompanyA (publish server) to \ (subcribe server), then the public folder will not sync. However, when i sync from \FolderCompanyA (publish server) to \FolderConpanyA [manually created the public folder (publish
server) then data from publish will able to sync to subcribe server. Second option, is the permission inherit to subcriver server?
My attention is any main and sub public folder will automatiocally sync and replicate to \ at subcribe server

Does the account you're using to run the service have permission to
create top-level public folders?

In your Exchange 2007 organization the "Exchange Public Folder
Administrators" group has that permission.
