Error when trying to install Managment tools on 2008 SP2 Server
Backup Exec needs the Managment tools installed. I am running Server 2008 SP2 64bit with 8Gig memory. Is there an issue with terminal services or Hyper-V running. From the Exchange Log file2009 12:06:28 PM] [0] Setup will run the task 'test-setuphealth'[12/28/2009 12:06:28 PM] [1] Setup launched task 'test-setuphealth -DomainController 'dc-mai.kurta.com' -DownloadConfigurationUpdates $true -ExchangeVersion '8.0.685.25' -Roles 'AdminTools' -ScanType 'PrecheckInstall' -SetupRoles 'AdminTools' -TargetDir 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server'' [12/28/2009 12:06:28 PM] [1] Beginning processing.[12/28/2009 12:06:33 PM] [1] [ERROR] Exchange 2007 cannot be used with the version of Windows operating system running on this computer.[12/28/2009 12:06:33 PM] [1] Ending processing.[12/28/2009 12:13:36 PM] [0] End of Setup[12/28/2009 12:13:36 PM] [0] ***************Thank You Randy

Version '8.0.685.25' means Exchange 2007 without any service pack. For Server 2008 you need to install from Exchange 2007 SP1 (or SP2) media or download from here:http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=44C66AD6-F185-4A1D-A9AB-473C1188954C&displaylang=enSounds like you are building a backup server here since you only want the management tools. It would be wise to standardize on a service pack level across your org though ... or you might have backup servers with a newer version than your Exchange servers.
