The OS is Windows 2008 64Bit and is a fresh install fully updated via windows update. -Grizzzly

Where can i find this, there is nothing in c:\ ... When i run setup.com from my console i get an .Net exception but i have the newest .NET namely 3.5: Unhandled Exception: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Exchange.Setup.Common, Version=8.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find th e file specified. Seems very weird and can not find a solution to this problem anywhere. -Grizzly

Look under c:\exchangesetuplogs Nothing there? How about in the event logs? You need .net 2.0 SP1 For Exchange 2007 SP1 and above ( or 2.0 RTM plus hotfix)- though 3.5 is supported to install with conditions: http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2009/11/30/453327.aspx Exchange 2007 is now supported on servers running .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 provided that the .NET platform was upgraded from .NET Framework 2.0.
