Error when Configuring ExternalUrl for EWS in Exchange Management Shell

When I enter in the command to setup my Web Services Virtual Directory for the External URL, i get the following error:

Warning: An Unexpected Error has occurred and a Watson dump is being generated: Unable to access the configuration system on the remote server. Make sure that the remote server allows remote configuration.

This is being run on the only EX2010 server in our enviroment at the moment. I have googled extensively and have found nothing so far. Any help will be appriciated.

Hi,
have you checked the winrm configuration. The Exchange Shell uses a remote shell for the local system in order to connect to Exchange.

Hi,
Please verify if you can run other set-* related cmdlet from EMS.
I recommend you to use EMTshooter to troubleshoot the issue, it will help you to identify potential problems with management tools connection to it.
