Error updating public folder with free/busy information on virtual machine ExchangeServer. The error number is 0x8004010f
Hi All,
I get he below error on our Mailbox server (exchange 2007 CCR):
Event Type: Error
Event Source: MSExchangeFBPublish
Event Category: General
Event ID: 8207
Date: 1/06/2010
Time: 12:49:13 p.m.
User: N/A
Computer: ExchangeServer
Description:
Error updating public folder with free/busy information on virtual machine ExchangeServer. The error number is 0x8004010f.
This happens every hour or so.
Background:
Exchange 2007 Sp1 Rollup 10 in a CCR cluster
Co-existance with Exchange 2003
I can't create Public Folders on the CCR cluster (not supported by microsoft) and I'm guessing this is why we are seeing this issue.
Any help in removing it or configuring to make it work would be great. Thanks

You may create a public folder store on your CCR cluster, but only if it's the only public folder store in your organization. What you don't want to have is a combination of public folder replication and continuous or standby
replication.

Hi,
Please run the below command in EMS, then post the information here.
get-publicfolder "\non_ipm_subtree\schedule+ free/busy" -recurse
Thanks

Hi All,
Sorry for the long delays in getting back to you all.
Ed - As noted I can only created a Public Folder store if there is only one in the Org and is not replicated, however this is not the case for me, we stil have 10 or so Exchange 2003 servers and public folders are widley used (replicated).
Allen - This command won't work as there are no public folders on our Exchaneg 2007 Servers
If there is anyway to get rid of the warning without having to create a stand alone MB server that would be great.

Hi,
OK, thanks for your prompting.
Now please open ESM in Exchange 2003, then find Public Folders and right click it, select View System Folders, expand SCHEDULE+ FREE BUSY, let me know what's name of the folder in there.
Thanks
Allen

Hi All,
Sorry for the delays in responding, here is the lastest update: I've manged to procure a new server so I've installed a standalone 2007 mailbox server on this, I've moved all public folder replicas from the exchange 2003 server onto this one. I've also moved
the offline address book genenation from the CCR cluster to this server.
However I still get the inital error still listed in the events logs for the Active CCR mail box server.
(This may or not be relevant) From checking the registry on the CCR active node the key 'SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeSA\Parameters\OABGen-Server\EnableOabGenOnThisNode' still points to the active node although this is now generated on the
new mailbox server. What should this vaule now be?

The OAB generation doean't move with the active cluster node. Move the
CMS back to the server that's supposed to run the OABGen. Running
OABGen on a cluster isn't a good idea.
