Error trying to reinstall the Exchange Management tools from Control Panel
Hi, I'm trying to reinstall the Exchange Management Tools after getting this error when moving a mailbox: The type initializer for 'Microsoft.Exchange.Management.RecipientTasks.MigrationTaskLogger threw an excetion." When choosing Change in Control Panel\Add and Remove, I eventually get a path error for exchangeserver.msi I'm wondering if this is because I installed the tools from a unc path and the reinstall needs the same path. when I run exchangeserver.msi directly I get an error that I need to do this from Control Panel. Is there a way around this? This is the 32 bit tool on server 2003 for exchange 2007 sp2

This isn't a problem with Exchange but Windows installer, so the same path will be required. Your best option is to remove the tools using the UNC path version, then copy them to the local machine and install them from there instead. I ran setup from the same path it was originally installed. It just installed right on top of it without prompts or warnings. But it fixed the problem. Thanks, Rudi
