Error running DS query from dashboard designer- do not have permissions to see data

Hi,

I built a simple cube with dynamic security implemented on it by using custom data. I added a data connection using a role with "unattended service account and add authenticated user name in connection string" in dashboard designer and a report based on it which is displaying fine through the sharepoint BI site.

Now I tried implementing in the same way the dynamic security on a different cube on the same server, different DB. Added roles appropriately. In the dashboard designer I created a data connection in the same way as before and on testing the connection is successful. When I create a report based on this connection I get "Error running data source query. Contact the administrator for more details" in the design preview pane. In the details pane under dimensions/ measures I get error: "You do not have permissions to see this data. Additional information has been logged for your administrator".

(The dynamic security logic in both DS is the same, giving the same users the same permissions).

Same role members in both of the above cases. Same BI site.

One's working and one's not.

What can be the problem?

The detailed error on the server is:

Exception Message: Error running data source query. Inner Exception Message: Stack Trace: at Microsoft.PerformancePoint.Scorecards.Server.PmServer.ExecuteAnalyticReportWithParameters(RepositoryLocation analyticReportViewLocation, BIDataContainer biDataContainer) at Microsoft.PerformancePoint.Analytics.ServerRendering.OLAPBase.OlapViewBaseControl.ExtractReportViewData() at Microsoft.PerformancePoint.Analytics.ServerRendering.OLAPBase.OlapViewBaseControl.CreateRenderedView(StringBuilder sd) at Microsoft.PerformancePoint.Scorecards.ServerRendering.NavigableControl.RenderControl(HtmlTextWriter writer) PerformancePoint Services error code 20604.</Data>

I think I've narrowed down by question-

I suppose there is a problem in the cube dimension usage. (In the cube that is throwing the error).

I have Agent dimension which is a role playing dimension-eg import agent dimension and export agent dimension. I tried implementing dynamic security by adding user dimension with a bridge table connecting user to agent (which users are allowed to view which agents). All this went fine, and succeeded in using dynamic security for the agent dimension.

BUT, when I add the other agent dimension in the dimension usage, making it a role playing dimension, although I can browse the cube in VS, and the connection in PPS is successful- I get the above error when trying to make a PPS report based on this connection.

I suppose there's something wrong with my dimension usage definision of the role playing dimension together with the bridge table. Please see the dimension usage dimension usage of role playing dimension with bridge for dynamic security user dimensionillustration attached and let me know how to define this correctly. Thanks
