Error installing Exchange 2007 Tools on computer in the child domain
We have an exchange 2007 deployed in root domain only. The users in child domains have their mailboxes on this server in parent domain. All i need is to deploy exchange 2007 tools to admins of this child domain. I'v run into issue installing tools on computer that has an account in the child domain. The error is sound like this: (translated from russian)"Need to update a local domain. Before continue you have to be a member of"domain admins" and "Exchange org.admins" groups or "Enterprise admins" groupRecommended action: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=30939&l=ru&v=ExBPA.3&id=57887854-be52-43eb-9549-e854e4dbe33b"this link leads to "The local domain needs to be updated" issue. But this is not the case.i'v tried to run the setup with "run as.." Enterprise admin privs with similar results. But when i logged off current user and logged on to desktop with Ent.Admin, all pre-reqs goes nice but just after setup is run the error appears: "The parameter is incorrect. Parameter name: sidType/domainSidAll pre-reqs have been completed (/adprep...etc)I have tried the exch2007 version (no SP1) also without successI have successfully deployed these tools under any user -either child or parent domain IF the computer account is in a parent domain(where the exch2k7 server deployed)To resolve this i have to temporary move a PC account into parent domain, install tools, the move it backany ideas?

Clarify: Exchange 2007 management tool cant be installed on Windows XP SP3 in the child domain, unless moving its computer account to parent domain, right?
Troubleshooting:
1. Dis/rejoin the domain, and try to reproduce issue again
2. Hows other SP versions doing in the child domain, also reproducing same symptom?
The parameter is incorrect. Parameter name: sidType/domainSid
Explanation: Therere some similar cases which occurs such error code, most of them happens when we install management tools on the Windows XP SP2. Because Windows XP cannot construct the SIDs of Well-Known Groups as it does not contain the well-known group WAA" which is the Windows Authorization Access group and therefore cannot construct the SID, so its confused me as you can install tools on Windows XP SP2, and theres no similar issue which appears on Windows XP SP3 so far
In these issues, we can trigger Windows XP to construct required SID by running setup on windows 2003 Server/Windows Vista Client. You may try this workaround, in order to install management tools on issued Windows XP SP3
Workaround: Run setup.com /PrepareAD /organizationname:ChildDomainName from a Windows 2003 Server or Windows Vista Client that meets the requirements
