Well, I guess there might be some issue with your PST file or outlook profile. Try running inbox repair tool. Refer this link : https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/272227

This would fix your PST file if it has got corrupted. Hopefully this should fix the issue.

If not, then I would suggest you to create new outlook profile and check. Refer this link : https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Create-an-Outlook-profile-f544c1ba-3352-4b3b-be0b-8d42a540459d?CorrelationId=db6da208-1203-44ab-afe9-5e14cfb84f1e&ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US

Hi,

In addition to mushm6's suggestion, do you have any third-party add-in installed in Outlook? If so, please try starting Outlook in safe mode and then test if this issue continues. To do this, press Windows key + R to open the Run command, type outlook /safe and press Enter. If the problem would be gone in Outlook safe mode, please go to File > Options > Add-ins and disable suspicious add-ins to resolve the issue.
