Error Converting Excel and Text Files to Access

Hi, when I attempt to convert either an Excel or Text file to Access using the External Data menu, I get the following message:

"This database was created with the 64-bit version of Microsoft Access.  Please open it with the 64-bit version of Microsoft Access"

However, the Access database to which I am trying to append the files was just created in my 64-bit version of Access.  Any suggestions?  T

Definitely sounds weird.  Can you try it this way.

Ryguy72 - yes I followed the same instructions as shown in the video you referenced, but I received the error message I indicated after selecting the file to import.  Thanks.

Can you run Compact & Repair?  Also, reboot your machine.  The error sounds bizarre.

Ryguy72, I tried both of your suggestions but no change - I still get the same error message.  Thanks.

Maybe you can see this.

It's pretty easy to Google errors.  I really don't know what the problem is.  I've been using Access for around 15 years; I've never seen an error like what you're seeing.

Ryguy72 yes of course I took that route.  Some further information - when I look at my "About Microsoft Access" account info, I see the following: Microsoft Access 32-bit Part of Microsoft Office 365.  Yet the error message refers to 64-bit.  Thanks.

Here is the solution: I uninstalled Office 365 32-bit and then installed Office 365 64-bit.  Thanks.
