Error 403 Forbidden Access

Hello All,

I have access to OWA and I can read and send emails no problem.

However I cannot open any attachments as I get the 403 Forbidden message you do not have permission to view this directory.

I also get that same message when I click on Logoff link.

Any ideas to which directory is OWA referring to?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Mostly, it can be the result of any wrong settings at OWA virtual directory. Go through the default settings reference https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg247612%28v=exchg.150%29.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396

I will try to reset to defaults and see if it helps....will post the results.

Thanks

Can you check?

OWA

Double-click and open the SSL Settings

Clear the Required SSL check box

Click Accept for Client certificates

Thanks for the reply Philip.

Still same error, could it be the application pool setting?

Hello,

The situation looks strange.. Ideally, the ow virtual directory should come with SBS web applications section in IIS.

What's the possibility of re-installing the CAS role? https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd767439%28WS.10%29.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396

May 9th, 2015 3:21pm

Will re-installing the CAS affect the internal exchange server.? i.e will users loose their emails and access internally?

checking the web config I see the last lines have this, does it look ok?

   <directoryBrowse enabled="true" showFlags="Date, Time, Size, Extension" />
        <handlers>
            <remove name="PHP53_via_FastCGI" />
            <remove name="PHP52_via_FastCGI" />
            <add name="PHP53_via_FastCGI" path="*.php" verb="*" modules="FastCgiModule" scriptProcessor="C:\Program Files (x86)\PHP\v5.3\php-cgi.exe" resourceType="Unspecified" />

When I login to owa I noticed the url has a redirect, it seems default web site redirect to owa under sbs app.

If I disable default website and enable SBS app site, upon login I get

Outlook Web Access was unable to access the Active Directory configuration settings for virtual directory "owa"

Hi,

According to this error, ASP.NET 4 might not be registered in IIS. Please run the following command in Windows PowerShell to check this issue.

%windir%\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\aspnet_regiis.exe ir

Note: Check which version of the framework is in the %windir%\Microsoft.NET\Framework64 directory and change the command accordingly before running.

Best Regards.
