Enabled 2nd nic and now smtp gets stuck in queue
Hi I have a SBS2008 server running exchange 2007. Not sure if this should be under admin or deploy I had to enable a 2nd nic for a sharepoint portal but since I have done that smtp outbound traffic does not go out, all the messages get stuck in the queue. If I disable the 2nd nic the queue will clear up. so my question is there a way to bind/set only ip to smtp/send connector? The only thing I have found so far was the Set-SendConnector -sourceip address cmdlet. would this be the correct way to do it? Thanks Tim

That isn't a supported configuration. SBS 2008 and higher only supports a single NIC to be enabled. Disable it again. If you want to have a specific IP address for Sharepoint then simply add a second address to the existing NIC and modify the bindings in IIS manager. There is no need to have the second NIC enabled.
