You are right renaming an Active Directory with an integrated Exchange 2010 System is not supported. But I think that a domain rename isn´t necessary. You are able to define additional UPN Suffixes so one domain can host userrnams with usera@dom1.com and at the same time userr2@domain2.de. So I think you should decide not to use the internet facing name for your Active Directory but using something like domain.local regards Thomas Paetzold visit my blog on: http://sus42.wordpress.com

Additional Info: “The domain rename operation is not supported if you are using Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 or Exchange Server 2010” --------Refer to <The Microsoft Exchange System Attendant service does not start on a computer that is running Exchange Server 2007 after you rename a Windows Server 2003 domain> If you want to request the change on it, please contact Microsoft Customer Support Service (CSS) for further assistance [US, outside of US] Thomas’ workaround could be an option for this situation Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
