Enable-OutlookAnywhere fails when the server can't find itself
I have a Windows 2008 server with Exchange 2007 SP1 UR4CAS role. It is in use for OWA for Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2007 mailboxes, and the HT to our ET. We reverse-proxy the OWA, Exchange and Exchweb sites to a BlueCoat proxy - this works [when disabling the BlueCoat requirement to authenticate to the BlueCoat, instead using Exchange to authenticate]. I recently followed the instructions on http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123889.aspxto enable Outlook Anywhere, added the RPC over HTTP Proxy, but the following command fails; Code Snippetenable-OutlookAnywhere -Server "ServerMX5" -ExternalHostName webmail.domain.com.au-ExternalAuthenticationMethodNTLM -SSLOffloading:$false I get the following error; Code SnippetEnable-OutlookAnywhere : Web object 'IIS://ServerMX5.domainname.local/W3SVC/1/ROOT' cannot be found. At line:1 char:22 I have tried restarting IIS, tried rebooting but I cannot get the command to work - is the error in my command?

A reboot did not fix this - have I used the wrong command?

Hi, Which IIS version have you installed, IIS 6 compatible? Try to use IIS Resource Kit Tool to browse the IIS metabase to check if you can find IIS://ServerMX5.domainname.local/W3SVC/1/ROOT. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/840671 Please run the cmdlt with verbose debug enable-OutlookAnywhere -Server "ServerMX5" -ExternalHostName webmail.domain.com.au-ExternalAuthenticationMethodNTLM -SSLOffloadingfalse verbose debug. Also, please check event log to see if any related event has been logged there. Please post the detail error information here. Besides, please try to uninstall CAS and re-install it. Best regards, Xiu
