Emails not going to junkmail folder
Hi, We have Exhange 2007 SP3, Mailbox role is one server and CAS&HT role in another server, NO EDGE. I run the shell command-> set-OrganizationConfig -SCLJunkThreshold 5 Content Filter also configured as SCL 9 to delete, 8 to Reject and 6 to Qrtn. I am using Symantec mail security premium Antispam installed and configured in HT server. Emails receiving in the users mailbox tagged as SPAM and i checked the message source as shown below, it is SCL 7 ********************************************** From: Dilbert <dilbert@email.dilbert.com> Reply-To: Dilbert <dilbert@email.dilbert.com> Subject: SPAM Dilbert.com - Daily Strip Email Message-ID: <bcad12dd86b0c74960f4c1fa49388ea3@localhost.localdomain> X-Priority: 3 X-Mailer: PHPMailer 5.1 (phpmailer.worxware.com) MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary="=_Boundary_FIfzcgWbI816XVCylr6x" X-TM-AS-Product-Ver: CSC-0-6.5.1024-18226 X-TM-AS-Result: Yes-32.44-4.50-31-1 Return-Path: dilbert@email.dilbert.com X-Brightmail-Tracker: AAAAAA== X-MS-Exchange-Organization-SCL: 7 ********************************************** Why the Emails are not going to junkmail folder even though SCL value is 7 Advance thanks for your suggestions... 1. Did you try to restart the Transport Service and test? 2. Pick one user and set the following Set-Mailbox -Identity John -SCLJunkEnabled $true 3. Also use Get-Mailbox for this user and see if there is another threshold for the SCLJunkThreshold andif this is loswer than what you have set. Sukh

Hi Any update on the issue? Do you have any settings for SCL in the Symantec product? Jonas Andersson | Microsoft Community Contributor Award 2011 | MCITP: EMA 2007/2010 | Blog: http://www.testlabs.se/blog | Follow me on twitter: jonand82

Hi Alagar, Any updates on this issue? Did you follow Sukh and Jonas’s suggestions to check for the issue? I have saw a similar issue (Right setting for SCL, but emails not going to junk folder), and user solve the problem by recreating the Junk Rule in user’s mailbox. You can follow this document to recreate the Junk Rule: Fixing the Junk Email Folder the Hard Way (Recreating the Junk E-mail Rule) http://www.exchangeinbox.com/article.aspx?i=78&t=3&all=1 Thanks, Evan

Regret for the late reply. I did the same by recreating the rule few months back and it reoccured. Then only i activated the Symantec antispam rule and defined the rating to 7 if it is tagged as SPAM. But the problem is still persiting.... Let me do the same once again and i will update. Thanks Alagar
