Emails freeze up

Exchange Server 2007 running on Windows 2007 Server Entreprise with the failover cluster management

We have power shutdown over the weekend for maintenance.  After the power was back, we turned on the servers.  Outlook failed to open at that point.  The Exchange show failure to mount and sync the database.  We restored the database using the power shell tool.  Now our emails freeze up and slow particularly if we want to open attachments.  It was working perfectly well before the power shutdown.

Can anyone help please ?

Thanks

Hi

I can understand now that you are databases are restored and mounted currently .

Can you elaborate little bit about your environment

Do you have CCR configured or its a stand alone?

Did you check anything on the event logs

Can you try running exbpa and see the results

Hi,

Do you use Outlook cached mode or online mode? If Outlook Cached Mode, how about recreating the Outlook profile and re-download the data from the Exchange DB? Does it work smoothly via OWA?

Thanks,

Hi ,

Is this issue is happening for all the users ?

What happens when you try to open the attachment on the mailbox through owa?

Please remove the add ins in the outlook which is related to antivirus software and check the results.

Hi

Yes this issue is affecting all users.

In OWA when if I click on any email with attachment to view on the right pane, it takes a bit.  A message at the menu bar at the bottom mentions the clustered Exchange which is in our NY office.  Some attachments do open but some don't.

I removed the AV addin from my Outlook, no difference.

Thanks

Hi

We don't use the cache mode.  I have recreated my own mailbox profile with no difference.

Thanks

Hi

Our Exchange environment is clustered with two Exch2 and Exch3 running in NY.  Will try to run exbpa during this weekend.

Thanks

Hi,

Is there any update on this thread? Also check the application log, monitor the utilization of CPU, memory and disk I/O on the servers.

Thanks,
