Emails deleting from outlook/exchange
Hopefully this is an easy one. On exchange, the emails are setup to stay on the server for each user. This means that each user can log onto any workstation their account is setup on, and the emails follow them. For some reason, one particular user can not do this. The emails they download on one machine, stay on that machine, and if they swap machines, they only see the old emails they downloaded on that machine last time, and only receive the new emails sent from that point onwards. Check the Outlook profile for that user. It's possible it's configured for POP3 or IMAP instead of Exchange Server. Tony

check the Delivery option under the outlook profile for that user, make sure that the delivery is set for the user mailbox under Exchange Server, not Personal Folder. Personal Folder is set locally on the machine or the user desktop, not on the server, so if the user opens his outlook where the delivery were set to personal folder, then all his emails will be moved from his exchange mailbox to this personal file, and will dissappears from his mailbox from exchange. check each and every machine that the user has already logged on and try to check the outlook profile for this user, if there is a personal folder delivery settings were found , then most likely all his emails are moved to the personal folder on that desktop. please let me know if this was the case. Regards,

There was one machine that was set to be a local PST file. The only way it would let me change this was to remove theoutlook profile and setup anew one, which then also ran through the wizard to setup a new email account, which was selected as an exchange account. Thats the fix, but there is an underlying problem there: When trying to repair this issue,I found that when an email account is setup, it selects automatically an existing PST file on the computer. This PST file is not even in the same logon account. For example: "Supervisor1" is created for the first time on that workstation, based off an account on active directory called "Supervisor1". This creates a new logon account profile on the XP computer called "Supervisor1". Outlook is opened, and it prompts with awizard to setup the email account. As per normal, an exchange server is selected as the type, with the exchange server name and the user account name put in. The user name/account is "supervisor1". This creates the email account linkfor "Supervisor1" in outlook, and it promptly authenticates and sends and receives emails through the exchange server under "Supervisor1" When you look at the emails listed, it also has all the emails for a user called "susanneb", who is another user on active directory, who uses that computer. When you look at the location the emails are delivered to, it is to a PST file in "susanneb's" account. Every new user that is setup on that workstation (via an AD account) automatically uses "susannebs PST file, and they all see every email downloaded. As mentioned above, the only way it would let me change this is by opening the user, eg "supervisor1", going to the mail option in control panel, and deleting the profile. When I start up outlook, it would ask me for the name of a new profile, to which i just used "Outlook", at which point it would step through needed a new exchange account settings. This would give it server based storage, but the next user setup would have to go through the same process. How do I remove this?
