Email window moves into background when using a network printer

Hi,

we have the following problem:

Whenever a user has an email opend in a seperate window and tries to print via File -> Print, the window moves behind the main outlook window and has to be brought back to the front manually.

- Ths seems to be an issue with network printers only (we have no local printers to test on, but pdf creators etc... work fine)

- The issue affects all users in Outlook 2013 on latest patch level

- Starting Outlook in safe mode didn't help

- Disabling all Outlook plugins didn't help

- All Network printers are connected to the User by AD policy (User Mode, Package)

(Most network printers use the same printer driver, Lexmark Universal, Driver Isolation = Shared)

Aynone got an idea what might be the issue?

Best regards

Roman

Hi,

Usually this issue is caused by add-ins, but apparently it's not the cause here.

We've tested this in our lab, this issue was not reproduced, so I think we need to collect the Process Monitor logs to check/analyze which is really affecting the email window.

Per my view, both the OS and Office should be involved in the logs analysis, as this is not a pure Office issue, so an email/phone ticket is required as we need to go to log analysis in the next troubleshooting stage.
