You will need to change the MX records to point to a server to continue to accept emails for that domain. If no server is availble, then maybe speak to your hosting company or find another which offers a service for hosted webmail.Sukh

Our company will cease operation within few weeks. All the data on the servers will be backed up and transferred to media incase there is a need to restore some data or files in the future.
Owner would like to redirect future emails to personal email. Since the Exchange Server will no longer be available to receive any emails, I am not sure of the steps I need to take to insure emails sent to @mycompany.com are forwarded properly. I think I
need to make some changes with the hosting company for our domain but not sure.
