Email issues
Using Exchange Server 2007 and IIS 7, email has been set up using OWA. This email worked fine and then suddenly stopped working. I can get to the email by using the IP address and using HTTPS, but not HTTP. I am also unable to get to the email using the normal http://mail.domain/owa whether using HTTP or HTTPS. What is the problem? I can only access the OWA using the IP and HTTPS when I am locally connected to the same router, of course. Is there a setting that was changed? I am relatively new to Microsoft exchange.

Do you have a URL set up for OWA?

Sounds like a DNS related problem!

The URL is supposed to be set up and all of it was working before. I "inherited" this problem. The previous URL was http://mail.epicchurch.tv/owa for OWA access, but now that doesn't work. There is a record set for managing the email storage for each user, but as I am new to Microsoft Exchange, I am unsure why this particular problem is occurring or what to do to fix it.

Can you give me more information on how your mail system is setup? version of Exchange, how many servers etc?

If your saying you had a url for OWA that did work, and then for some reason that URL was changed, then that change needs to be reflected in DNS or the hosts file if your using a hosts file!

It is a single server using IIS 7 and Microsoft Exchange 2007. The URL wasn't changed, it just stopped working. I thought maybe it was an update issue. I especially thought this considering you now have to use HTTPS to access the OWA on the server's network.

So you have all roles running on 1 Server? CAS - HUB - Mailbox ? Do you have ISA Server in place ?

Hi crigoni, Do you mean that you cannot use External URL to access OWA, right? If so, please check the URL for OWA by this way: Exchange Management Console->Server configuration->Client Access->Outlook Web Access->choose owa (Default Web Site) ->Right click and choose Properties->General. Make sure you have add A record for the URL. Thanks, Evan
