Email failing to be sent from a shared mailbox

Hi everyone.

We are a small UK company, part of a European Group recently moved from Lotus Notes to O365. All companies synchronize their AD with the Group AD servers which in turn synchronise with Micrososoft.

We all use O365 Pro with E3 licences

I have two mailboxes, my own and the general IT mailbox.  Up until very recently, including the changeover to a new laptop, I have been able to send emails to individual addresses, internal & external and also distribution groups, again internal and external, whilst in the office and at home working on my VPN from both mailboxes.

I now cannot send from my IT mailbox, despite having full access rights but can from my own mailbox

The error I get is as follows:

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

      Subject:    Spoof email address

      Sent: 11/03/2015 12:50

The following recipient(s) cannot be reached:

      Abbey, Joanna on 11/03/2015 12:50

This message could not be sent. Try sending the message again later, or contact your network administrator.  Error is [0x80070005-00000000-00000000].

This, when googled is pretty vague.  I cannot change anything on an Exchange server because it is hosted.

Can anyone assist me please?

Many thanks. kind regards, Nick

Hi Nick,

From your description, I would like to clarify the following thing:

A user with Full Access permission cant send email from the shared mailbox unless they also have Send As or Send on Behalf permission. Please grant your IT mailbox send as permission or send on behalf permission to check the result.

For your reference:

Hope this can be helpful to you.

Best regards,

Hi Amy

Thanks for the response but that did not help.  I stressed that this suddenly stopped working for me.  I dont have on site exchange servers, they are hosted, it is O365

Permissions do not change overnight

Kind regards

Nick

Hi Sneff_Gabor

Removing the offline address book fixed the problem

However, the problem has now re-appeared.  I am rapidly becoming disenchanted with Microsoft and its cloud based services, I have no control over my company's mail now.

Can anyone else shed some light on this please

Kind regards, Nick
