Email delivered, not showing in mailbox
This problem is very similar to a recent issue posted 10/8/10 by SnoBoy with one big difference. This also has me and a couple other Exchange admins looking dumb founded. The user is running XP sp3, Outlook 2007, No pst files, No cache mode, No rules. Exchange 2007 with 400 users. Problem - Random Emails sent by only one external sender does not make it to the users Inbox even though Message Tracking shows it as being delivered. The sender will re-send and it comes through with no problems. Not in Junk Mail, Not in Deleted folder, Mailbox search finds only actual received emails that the user can see & read. The subject and content of the missing emails are random/different each time so I can't find any commonality there. What I have done is set Mail Forwarding to forward me (a copy) the users mail just to see if the same happens to me - I Get The Email that the user does not. ???? If other recipients are on the email they also get it. I have deleted and recreated the users email profile x2. I tried OWA and the email is not there either. Right now I have another test box running - logged in as the user with email open to see if the same happens on it. As I said - these are random and asking the sender to test again is fruitless since they come through just fine. What am I missing here? I've spent over 30 hours on this and I still look dumb. I'd look for mailbox rules. If nothing shows up there, run Outlook with the /cleanrules switch. When you checked with OWA, did the user also have their Outlook up and running? If there's an Outlook rule doing it, it may be deleting them before they show up in OWA if they're both running at the same time. I'd also check the recoverable deleted items.[string](0..33|%{[char][int](46+("686552495351636652556262185355647068516270555358646562655775 0645570").substring(($_*2),2))})-replace " "

This is an issue of wrong hidden and stale rule create in MAPI profile. There would be some corrupted, hidden or stale mailbox rules sitting in your inbox to remove mails. Please run MAPI Editor and remove hidden rule as suggested in below article and check the issue. http://exchangeshare.wordpress.com/2008/04/10/delete-corrupted-hidden-or-stale-rules-from-mailbox-with-mfcmapi/ MAPI Editor is a pretty dangerous tool, it should be used with care and any small misuse could result in the loss of data or a mailbox being completely unreadable – take care and as always ensure that you have a working backup copy if you are new to it.
