Hi Everybody We have a quandery here in our organisation, we use Exchange as andemail system with Symantec Enterprise Vault as an archiving system, this works well and the archiving is transparent to the users. The problems we have is with the retention of our emails, at the moment all email is kept forever in the EnterpriseVault as well as having envelope journalling, obviously this is leading to our vault growing to an almost unmangable size dispite us having reatively few users. We also have a problem that it does not allow us to delete accounts from the AD and delete the the mailboxswhen users leave the organisation. We hear from various departments that email cannot be deleted for xx years and other department will say email can not be deleted for another period.Enterprise Vaultwill copequite adequately with this as long as you tell it what to do, the problem we have is getting management to agree on a policy. I would be interested to hear what otherorganisations do with their left users and email, as there seems to be a varying opinion as to how long this should be kept for and whether email can be deleted or not.
