By default the mailbox quota applies in 2 hours time period due to information store cache which updates every 2 hours. If you want to apply it immediately then you can restart the information store service or alternatively check theregistrychanges explained in blow KB (kb is for 2000 but it applies to 2003 and 2007 also) to change the refresh time interval of cache... Exchange 2000 mailbox size limits are not enforced in a reasonable period of time; fix requires Exchange 2000 SP2 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/326252 Amit Tank | MVP Exchange Server | MCITP: EMA | MCSA: M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com

Yes, I agree with Amit.we can change the refresh interval for the mailbox information cache by modifying the Reread Logon Quotas Interval value in the registry for the MicrosoftExchange Information Store service. The Reread Logon Quotas Interval value depends on the Directory Service Access (DSAccess) cache and the mailbox information cache. Therefore, you must configure the CacheTTLUser and Mailbox Cache Age Limit values as well. Detail steps you can follow article below: Mailbox Size Limits Are Not Enforced in a Reasonable Period of Time http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb684892.aspx Regards, Xiu
