Email ID is showed in from field
Hi, We are facing a strange issue with one of our users. Our company is actually merged with another comapany. so SMTP domain spanned between our company merged comapany. If any user from merged company sends a message to this user senders email ID showed in the from filed of email instaed of display name. for example, if sender name is John, wright and email address john.wright@xyz.com, in the received mail "john.wright@xyz.com" is shown in the from field instaed of "John, wright" This only happens if mail is send from merged company, if an email sent from our company, display name only showed in the from field. Does any one have any Idea about this behaviour. Regards Jagan

Hi, What’s the version of Exchange server? By default, Exchange 2003 only resolves the display name from authenticated user. To resolve this issue, you should enable “Resolve anonymous sender” on the SMTP virtual server. Resolve Anonymous Senders Functionality in Microsoft Exchange 2003 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/828770/en-us For Exchange 2007, the Resolve anonymous senders option is not available. Instead, you can control it by select Externally secured. The "Externally secured" mechanism means is that the designated IP addresses will be completely trusted by your organization. Do not use this setting lightly. You will be granting several rights including the ability to send on behalf of users in your organization, the ability to ResolveP2 (that is, make it so that the messages appear to be sent from within the organization rather than anonymously), bypass anti-spam, and bypass size limits. You can refer to the following article for more detailed information: Allowing application servers to relay off Exchange Server 2007 http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2006/12/28/432013.aspx Thanks Allen
