Hi All,
I need to put forwarding in place on a user's mailbox which is now on our on-prem Exchange 2013 server (we have hybrid deployment). I need to deliver to mailbox and forward to another user's mailbox of which is in Office 365. (The user has left and we move
mailboxes back to our on-prem Exchange when users leave).
I used to be able to do this when we had Exchange 2010 on prem via EMC, but don't seem to be able to do this via EAC on Exchange 2013. If I go to mailbox features on the mailbox I want to put the forwarding on, and then mail flow, and then browse to select
the receipient - it doesn't show me recipients in Office 365.
Any help on how to correctly put forwarding on an on-prem mailbox to a mailbox in Office 365, would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris

Peter, the link you provided is for forwarding out of Office 365; I believe what annec0010 is looking for is to forward from a mailbox in the on-premise exchange servers out to a mailbox in their Office 365 implementation since they have a hybrid setup.
annec0010, have you made any progress with this or still need assis
Hi All, apologies for the delay in coming back - I temporarily moved the mailbox back to Office 365 to put the forwarding in place.
B0ndoo7, I hadn't tried creating a contact in AD, it sounds as though it would do the job but was wondering if this is really how it has to be done with Exchange 2013, given I was able to forward to an Office 365 mailbox via EMC when we had Exchange 2010 as our on on-premise Exchange. I have another mailbox which I need to put forwarding on (this one not so critical as the first one) so I'll try creating a contact in AD as you suggested.
Hi
Just use the management shell as described here Configure
email forwarding for a mailbox
Set-Mailbox -Identity "OnPrem mailbox" -ForwardingSMTPAddress "Office 365 mailbox"
That works for forwardings from onprem to Office 365
Hope that helps.

Pano

Yes, my suggestion was not the solution, more of a workaround.
I put the forwarding in place using the command
Set-Mailbox -Identity "OnPrem mailbox" -ForwardingSMTPAddress "Office 365 mailbox"
That works fine.
Many thanks for your help everyone.
