Hi, Go to exchange server and open Exchange Management Console and then go to "Recipient Configuration->Mailbox" and then on right side select your target mailbox , then right click it and click on "Properties". Then go to Email addresses tab and add the additional email address as mis@domain.com. Regards,Laeeq Qazi|Team Lead(Exchange + Sharepoint + BES + DynamicsCRM) www.HostingController.com

Hi, You cant send an email using secondary email address (alias), u can only use primary smtp address in To filed. This is by design in exchange. Although there are third party tools which allow us to send an email using secondary email address. At a time u can only have one primary smpt address, so u can convert mis@domain.com as primary smtp address,in which case first.last@domain.com would become secondary email address, and after that it will be available for To field in GAL. Is there any third party software you can name that will do the task. Regards By default you cant send as by your own secondary email address. You will have to go for a third-party or custom application that lets you use secondary addresses as the authoritative From address for outgoing messages. Products such as Ivasoft’s ChooseFrom (http://www.ivasoft.biz/choosefrom2007.shtml) is good in this regard. There is also a workaround to this problem which is mentoned here Using Secondary Email Address to Send Emails in Exchange 2007 Here is a similar forum post: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvradmin/thread/f0b6e264-4a8c-414d-b11b-f0c06a00c0c6#fb3f1bb9-e8a9-4cae-916c-790e62b0b6eb Regadrs, Laeeq Qazi|Team Lead(Exchange + Sharepoint + BES + DynamicsCRM) www.HostingController.com

If you just want an alias for the GAL, you can create a DL called MIS and make him the only member.[string](0..33|%{[char][int](46+("686552495351636652556262185355647068516270555358646562655775 0645570").substring(($_*2),2))})-replace " "

Actually my boss wanted to give ease to the users. He wanted to have email with first.last@domain.com and display name should be the designation. When someone wants to send email he should just type the first letter of the designation in the TO field and it should give him suggestion. All i did was just type a letter and then press ctrl+k it will give you suggestion for the different email in the GAL. This works well for me and i hope for the boss to :) Thanks All

Hi, Plz ignore my above 2 replies, they are related to "FROM" field, not to "TO" field. My mistake. Regards,Laeeq Qazi|Team Lead(Exchange + Sharepoint + BES + DynamicsCRM) www.HostingController.com
