Hello We have exchange 2007 organization with SCC cluster and single hub and single edge servers, wiht Windows 2003 single domain. We want to upgrade exchange 2007 to exchange 2010 and keep for coexistence. Can I keep edge server of exchange 2007 as it is and upgrade Exchange Schema and installed new HUB & CAS servers roles of exchange 2010 and then install new exchange 2010 mailbox server as DAG. Can Edge server of exchange 2007 communicate and edge sync with Hub server of Exchange 2010. Also can I remove exchange 2007 HUB and CAS server and keep exchange 2010 HUB and CAS server in this coexistence evnironment. Thank you

Yes, you can make Edge 2007 work with Hub 2010 while you transition to Exchange 2010. Actually it's quite normal since a proven transition approach is to upgrade servers in the following order; CAS, Hub, Edge, UM and last but not least Mailbox. You cannot remove CAS 2007 as long as you have mailboxes on Exchange 2007 since CAS 2010 doesn't speak directly to Exchange 2007 Mailbox but redirects the connection to a CAS 2007 in the same site.Jesper Bernle | Blog: http://xchangeserver.wordpress.com
