EXchange server 2007 - Accepted Domain
i have a Domain name Syztalk.com, and i planned to go for exchange server 2007 with the recommended setup. we are having two more companies named xxx.com and yyy.com ( diiferent Name space). i want to know, if im creating two accepted domain for xxx.com and yyy.com in syztalk.com Exchange server and im configuring the MX records for the respective domains in the domain register control panel. and im creating an OU and placing the XXX users and YYY users and assigning the policy to change their mail address in respect to that of their company name space. is it possible for the respective domain users to access the mails via mapi client. ? for example raj.kumar@xxx.com can connect syztalk.com exchange server to receive mails with their domain name space. im tottaly confused with this accepted domain. help me to know that this will work or not ?

This is possible, you can use MAPI client such as outlook and have mutiple domains in Exchange.Accepted domain tells Exchange what SMTP domain Exchange should accept mail for. You can simply add as many domains you want. You must of course have MX records for others to find your server to deliver mail to.http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124423.aspxEmail address policy define rules how SMTP addresses should be stamped on user objects in AD.http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998940.aspxlasse at humandata dot se, http://anewmessagehasarrived.blogspot.com

Mr. Lasse Petterson Thanks a Lot for your kind response. now im almost clear in this , im preparing my testing environment to check this option... but this seems to be security vulnerablity, its because spam intruders can have a Exchange setup and they can create accepted domain and they can send mails as they wish ?

Spammers dont often run there own mailservers, they utilize other server that they can get there hands on.But if they want to run there own mailservers they can simply install pretty much any mailserver in the world and configure to meet there needs and then start spamming.lasse at humandata dot se, http://anewmessagehasarrived.blogspot.com
