EXMon results
Hi, I am running Exchange 2003 withSP1 on Windows 2003 with SP1. Many users are experiencing slow response from outlook, they are getting popup message "outlook is trying to retrieve data from exchange server." Some times it is taking a long time to open an email message. I ran perfmon to monitor RPC Averaged Latency and RPC requests counters. The max value of RPC Avg Latency is 317 and max value of RPC request is 19. I also ran EXMon but I don't knowwhat to look in the results. Are there any standard results that I can compare with ExMon results? Any help will be appriciated.

Hi,We are currently experiencing a simular problem with our exchange. We have approximately 200 users on our exchange server, combined with a GFI Mail Essentials anti-spam filter. We have run defrags, compressions, reboots, deleted mail boxes, and installed service packs and still we are getting the problem. There are users with mail boxes of 1GB.Any ideas will be appreciated greatly! Thanks,Andy

Andy,We figured it out that there is disk bottleneck in our environment. If you can transfer your transaction logs to different disk not the partition then it will help. If there is a room in your server then setup a Raid1 on two hard drives and transfer your transaction logs to it. We have three exchange servers so I moved the larger mailboxes to other servers to balance the load.
