EX2010 : Errors in Best practise Analyzer
Hello all, Recently we had some issues during 3 EX2003 > EX2010 migrations at customer locations. At the end we managed to find out what was causing these problems. It had to do with third party software. For 2 migrations everything worked out at the end, but after 1 migration we are still experiencing errors when running the Exchange Best practise Analyzer : Health Check. Strangly enough we are not experiencing (as it seems) any problems. The setup: One Server 2008 R2 x64 Domaincontroller with Exchange 2010. It is a single server scenario at a smaller customer location. We are experiencing 2 errors during the health scan: Critical Error : Unrecognized Exchange Signature - Active Directory domain '*****' has an unrecognized Exchange signature. Current DomainPrep version: 12639. Offline Adress Book site public folder missing - The public folder store where the site offline address book is hosted was not detected. The hosting server may be unreachable or the public folder store does not exist. Public folder store: CN=Public Folder Database 1506563856,CN=Databases,CN=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT),CN=Administrative Groups,CN=***,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=**,DC=local. After checking out the internet I did the following: For this critical error I performed the /PrepareAd. Issue is not resolved. I checked the Mailbox > Offline Adress Book tab properties. Everything seems fine. All settings are correct. I compared the settings with another Exchange 2010 server within ADSIedit and it seems normal. Still we are recieving the above 2 errors during the scan. Can anyone point me out in the right direction? I appreciate all help! Thank you all in advance. Mark

Hi Mark, For the first issue, it has been reported as a known issue. So far, we can ignore it. For the second one, please try to copy the value for distinguishedName on CN=<Public folder name> (Note: We can find it from ...CN=Exchange Administrative Group->CN=Databases->CN=<Public folder name>) and then past it to value for siteFolderServer on CN= Exchange Administrative Group(FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)(Note: We can find it from ...CN=Microsoft Exhcange->CN=<Organization>->CN=Administrative Groups-> CN= Exchange Administrative Group(FYDIBOHF23SPDLT) Regards, Xiu
