EX2007: OAB not generated
Hello, I'm transitioning from Exchange 2003 to 2007. As i can see, the default offline address list is not generated by the mailbox server. There is no directoryon the server such as d:\program files\exchange server\exchangeOAB I already recreated the oab. Outlook client says: Error (0x8004010F) I have set the logging level of oab generation to expert as of this: http://www.exchangeninjas.com/OfflineAddressBook ...but no events at all are generated. When I try to manually generate the oab i get the following error on the ems: [PS] C:\>Update-OfflineAddressBook "exchange 2007 offline address book"Update-OfflineAddressBook : Failed to generate the content of the offline address book '\Exchange 2007 Offline Address Book'. Two possible reasons for the failure are that the System Attendant Service is not running or you do not have permission to perform this operation. Error message : 'There is no such object onthe server. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80072030)'.At line:1 char:26+ Update-OfflineAddressBook <<<< "exchange 2007 offline address book" oabinteg.exe /tabfldcheck says: Opening the Exchange Public Folder Store.Retrieving the message store table.Obtaining store table properties. I'm running into this on a brand new install. All resources out there are for 2003, but I can't find any way to fix this other than turning off OAB on clients if they're in cached mode.

Hi, I'm having the same issue with a clean Exchange 2007 SP1 installation. Turning OABGeneration diagnostics logging to maximum and forcing the OAB update shows only successfull events, no errors. I also tried using a new SiteFolderGUID and it effectively generated a new Public folder structure and new OAB subfolders, but Outlook 2003 SP3 and SP2 clients are still giving the 0x8004010F error, object not found. Also tried creating a new OAB with all distribution types enabled, set it to be the default OAB, but still getting the same error. Hope we get a hint from MS on this... Thanks, Mario
