EWS Server url vs ActiveSync-type Server/Domain settings

Hello,

Should auto-discover fail, the EWS Server URL needs to be generated, probably with input from the end-user.

A user will very likely have no clue what EWS means, let alone EWS Server URL.

On the other hand, many users know their corporate mail server url, port and Domain because those are used when setting up their email client on their mobile devices.

Is there a rule that can be used to calculate an EWS Server url from the above such as

ewsServerUrl = SERVER+"/EWS/Exchange.asms";

Thanks,

 Erez

I'm not sure what you're asking for. Are YOU trying to find this URL or do you want something like a disclaimer displaying this URL? I'm not sure of anything that could 'pop up' if autodiscover fails but you could educate users on the EWS URL. But if autodiscover fails, I'm certain we need to look into that. Not sure what good it would do for a user to know the EWS URL though.

Autodiscover is not guaranteed to work.

If it fails, then the url needs to come from the user. I was asking if there was a connection between the EWS URL and the URL the user usually inputs when he or she set up their accounts on their mobile phones.

Who is "we" ?
