ESE error 715
I get this error: ESE 715 12/02/2011 00:07:54 1 Event Details: MSExchangeIS (2588) First Storage Group: oOnline defragmentation has been paused one or more times in the last 60 minutes for the following databases: ''E:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\Mailbox\First Storage Group\Mailbox Database.edb''. The ESE database cache is not large enough to simultaneously run online defragmentation against the listed databases. Action: Stagger the online maintenance time windows for the listed databases or increase the amount of physical RAM in the server. For more information, click http://www.microsoft.com/contentredirect.asp. I have tried researching this but am foxed as to what to do. I have 8GByte RAM (max allowed). This report happens well after the last Backup was successful. Can anyone advise? I have a standard SBS 2008 R2 install and have not configured and DB or interferred with them in any way. Many thanks for your time.

You can configure maintenance schedule using below: Open Exchange Management Console. Expand Server Configuration and then select the server that you want to work with. Expand the storage group that you want to work with. Right-click the store that you want to work with, and then click Properties. On the General tab, click the Maintenance schedule list. Then, click an interval or click Customize to create a custom schedule In SBS 2008 the scheduled is configured for you, using above you can change schedule times (in your case you want to make it longer), this should resolve your problemWith kind regards Krystian Zieja http://www.projectnenvision.com Follow me on twitter My Blog

Hi barleytwist, Any updates on this issue? Have you follow Krystian’s suggestion to have a try? Please make sure you have staggered the online maintenance intervals and the backup schedules. Well I changed the mtnce schedule time from the default (I think it was 11pm) to 0100hrs to get it further away from a long backup session (that's the only thing I thought might be cusing the issue) but have not heard from ESE 715 since. So I guess I will have to wait. I do find however that SBS errors do vary a lot, sometimes I get say 8 errors on one day and then (as now) 2 errors most of which I tend to ignore unless some function (like Backup) has been interupted. If it arises again I will report back unless you think I should be doing something? Many thanks for your time.
