EMC doesnt work like the blogs say!
All i want to do is mailbox enable all users in a certain OU using the Exchange Management Console. simple enough. plenty of tutorials and blogs out there describing how to mailbox enable an existing user, then selecting all the users when you browse. Some go as far to warn you that you wont be able to pick an Alias when enabling multiple users. Some older posts go on to describe that the ability to mail enable Mutiple exisitng users is a great new addition with ExSP1. Well, I am setting up exchange 2007 and going to do a complete cut over from groupwise on a weekend. (pray for me) I hate scripting cuz it takes me too long to figure out how to use the EMS for bulk mailbox enabling. I have RTM Exchange 2007 SP2 with newest .NET framework and 3.0 version of MMC. I do a windows update and i get Zero, yes ZERO updates available. What an I doing wrong? did they take out this multiple feature in SP2?

There is no Exchange 2007 SP2. There is Exchange 2007 SP1 (with a post SP1 roll-up) and Exchange 2003 SP2. I am not sure what the EMS is either. If you are using Exchange 2003 SP2, then you are using the ESM and you can't mail-enable objects there, you have to use ADUC. If you are using Exchange 2007 SP1, then you should be able right mouse click the Mailbox object under the Recipient Configuration, and select new mailbox. If this options isn't available to you, then the account you are using might not be a recipient administrator.

I am using Exchange 2007, and was looking at the Help/About of the Management Console. it said SP2. My bad. I was also under the impression we were installing Exchange 2007 with SP1 part of the ISO download. I am currently downloading SP1 separate and will install. EMS= Exchange Management Shell. thank you for your response. got me thinking in the right direction.
