ECP not displayed correctly

Hi,

When using ECP on browsers other than Internet Explorer, it loads but does not display the content correctly. We only get to see the links. Unfortunately I cannot add an image to this post.

How can I fix this so that all browsers (Safari, Chrome, Firefox,... ) support the ECP functionality? Our Exchange server 2013 Standard (15.0.847.32 - SP1) runs on a Windows server 2012 R2.

Thanks !

It should work fine.  I have used it with several different browsers, firefox, chrome, etc.  I didn't make any specific changes to support this functionality.  Does it work ok with IE?  There could be any number of factors contributing to this.  Are your browsers configured with default settings?  I'm assuming your Exchange environment is on the same local intranet?  Are you accessing from inside?  If so, are you using any sort of security settings in these browsers?  You may want to add it to trusted sites or something.  Also, a pic of this would go a long way.  You don't have any error messages or anything? If I was you I'd try and get a pic posted so we can actually see what you mean.  Also, I've seen many posts about this with Chrome, looks like the removed some functionality and there is an add in that is causing issues here:

Hopefully some of this helps.  If you can send a pic, I'll be glad to try and assist.  Does OWA work fine?  That runs on basically the same stuff.  If it does, that would be strange.

Hi,

From your description, I would like to verify if the ECP can work correctly when using IE browsers (Safari, Chrome, Firefox). If yes, the issue is related to browser, you can add the ECP URL to Compatibility View and check the result. If the issue persists, please take your time post the error information for my further research.

Hope this can be helpful to you.

Best regards,

Hi Amy, Brockstar,

The ECP is displayed correctly and working fine when using IE.

Unfortunately I cannot upload a printscreen as my account is not yet verified. I'm new to this :-)
Is there another way to get the picture in this thread?

When the ECP opens we only see some sort of links in the left menu pane of the page. These links are for example Account, Organize E-Mail, Groups, Settings, Phone, ... The items do not function.

The Exchange server is indeed in the same subnet as the clients. No special settings or security settings in the browsers. Part of our test clients in this issue are Macs, so they cant be controlled by some GPOs. I have also a fresh install Windows client to test this issue.

Kind regards,

can you open powershell as administrator and navigate to the location on powershell to the folder where UpdateCAS.PS1 is located and run UpdateCAS.Ps1 script ?

UpdateCAS.PS1 will surely fix this issue as i think the issue you are facing is something to do with missing files for ECP.

UpdateCAS.PS1 will repopulate and copy in case if any files are missing!

Revert back for any questions or with the outcome.

Hi Pavan,

I will try the powershell script, but will do this out of business hours. I'm a bit carefull as the Exchange server is a production machine. CAS role is combined with MBX role on this machine, so don't want to mess up.

I will keep you posted about the result.

Thanks!

Hi Pavan,

I've run the UpdateCAS.PS1 script and tested this.
We keep having the same issue on our browsers. Only on IE and Waterfox it works.

On Chrome (Windows) we've received the following error:

Have you got any other working exchange server where %exchangeInstallpath% is similar to the server having the issue? in case you do, then you could try to replace web.config file and do an IISREST may help.

I will test this in lab and will confirm.

if replacing doesn't work then we might have to end up recreating the virtual directory. But, please wait till i test on my lab and get back to you with an update!
