Single domain, one exchange organization, two E2K7 servers. After installing the second E2K7 server into the same organization as the first E2K7 server, the Information Store Service will not start. I get the following error in the system log of the second server: Event Type: Error Event Source: Service Control Manager Event Category: None Event ID: 7024 Date: 1/14/08 Time: 12:32:55 PM User: N/A Description: The Microsoft Exchange Information Store service terminated with service-specific error 0 (0x0). For more information, see Help and Support Center The only other servers on the network are two domain controllers, not on the E2K7 servers. I have searched the MS KB but only come up with hits involving earlier versions of Exchange and nothing that matches my scenario. I ran Exchange Best Practices Analyzer and it tells me the the Info Store Service is not running. First E2K7 server is running fine. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks

did you run the install with the SP1 install bits or RTM? Have you tried re-installing the mailbox role?

I installed a retail copy of E2K7 and SP1. I was going to try to re-install SP1 to see if that fixes the problem

Re-install of SP1 until the end, finalizing, when it told me it Information Store was not started. It will not start. Any ideas would be appreciated, Thanks

I got the service to start. I benefited from have a good server, looked at the file system and noticed the First and Second Storage Group had nothing in it or was missing. Manually created a new First Storage Group and Second Storage Group then created the appropriate Databases. Service now starts. Not sure how that happened?
