E2K7SP1: How to change the installation path...
Hello all, I'm trying to patch an E2K7 installation performed over a virtual machine with few disk space available (just 10GB). The installation have been executed in the default localtion. Now, when I attempt to install the SP1, I get an error message that claims for more space and suggest to "change the installation directory" of exchange. Litterally, the message says:---------------------------Microsoft Exchange---------------------------The current Exchange Server installation path does not have sufficient disk space to install the server roles selected. Please change the Exchange Server installation path to a different location or clear one or more server roles to be installed on this computer.---------------------------OK --------------------------- Can anyone point me on the topic? Does this operation require a new installation? Is it safe? Thanx

please refer to the following link: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996719.aspx normally it's recommend to install the exchange 2010 on another hard disk than the c: drive. u cannot change the path of the patch installation coz it will use the default path of the exchange installation.

u can try to attach another disk to the VM and merge the c drive with this new drive but its prefer to test in lab environment and to take a backup, like this u can install the patch on the default location of the exchange installation and u will use both drive.
