E-mails not being sent after Edge Installation
Hello, I can see e-mails in the queue but they are staying there. I have created the xml from the Edge server and run the Edge Subscription setup on the Hub Transport I am confused now where I have to set the send connector smart host to send e-mails. I have set it on the EdgeSynch - HometoInternet Send Connector but still e-mails are stuck. Is it normal that in the Hub Transport I have 3 send connectors; EdgeSynch Hometointernet, Edgesynch InboundtoHome and Internet Send Connector while on the Edge server I have only the first 2 I can fully resolve the Edge server and vice versa dns FQDN What do I have to check to troubleshoot such an issue ? Thanks

Checking the event viewer I found this referring to the Internet Send Connector: Microsoft Exchange could not find a certificate that contains the domain name mail.avconti.info in the personal store on the local computer. Therefore, it is unable to support the STARTTLS SMTP verb for the connector Internet Send Connector with a FQDN parameter of mail.avconti.info. If the connector's FQDN is not specified, the computer's FQDN is used. Verify the connector configuration and the installed certificates to make sure that there is a certificate with a domain name for that FQDN. If this certificate exists, run Enable-ExchangeCertificate -Services SMTP to make sure that the Microsoft Exchange Transport service has access to the certificate key.

Ok managed t0 make it work by specifying a smart Host in the Internet Send Connector and setting the source server as the Edge server instead of the Hub Transport server. The send connector settings replicated to the Edge server and e-mails started to be delivered. But why is there an Internet Send Connector and an EdgeSynch - HomeToInternet ( are they similar but with different cost ?) a typical mail would first be received by the receive connector at the Hub Transport then if the recepient is outside of the domain it is sent to the send connector and forwarded to the receive connector of the Edge Server, then the Edge Server takes care of the delivery, is this the correct message flow and when a mail is received is it exactly the other way round ? Thanks

Hi, For the same address space but with the different cost of the send connects, the send connector with lower cost will be used. That's correct message flow. And the send connector between the hub and the edge is the implicit. Thanks' AllenAllen Song
