E-mail stuck in Outbox BUT ONLY FOR RECIPIENTS FROM ONE PARTICULAR DOMAIN!

I have no problems sending receiving e-mails from Outlook 2010 (Win 7 PC)   ...  except ...

There is just ONE exception. I have a few associates who are on a domain that that has a long name (23 chars + .com) but I don't see why that should matter. Their e-mail is hosted by Google apps mail.

Most of the time, (although not always, and I haven't found any pattern to it) when I send an e-mail with one of the recipients from that domain, the e-mail gets stuck in my Outbox. I get error:

"'Sending' reported error (0x800CCC0F) : 'The connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'"

If I delete the recipients with this domain from the to or cc address lists, the e-mail is delivered without a problem to other recipients.

Sometimes, I AM able to send e-mails to those on this domain. It is not a persistent problem, but more often than not, the e-mail gets stuck.

Any suggestions????

Hello,

The error number 0x800ccc0f appears on the screen when a send/receive gets failed to synchronize emails successfully in Microsoft Outlook. Or it sometimes occurs due to the antivirus installed on your system or any personal firewall installed. The other reasons can be that your ISP has blocked port 25.

So to solve this error, you first need to make sure that no firewall is interrupting the working of the Outlook, delete the antivirus. Turn off the the firewall from control panel,->network connection-> right click on the internet connection->select properties->firewall (Switch off the firewall).

Uninstall the antivirus from your system

also Contact your ISP if he has blocked smtp port 25 for the specific domain.

It may also occur due to the larger size of message than the proposed limit.

Hi,

If we try sending an email to a recipient in that domain using webmail interface, will it be send out correctly?

Do you have any antispam or antivirus scanner installer on your computer? An antivirus scanner may scan your outgoing emails and cause such an issue. We can try to disable email scanning in the antispam or antivirus scanner, and then test the issue again. You'll need to check the documentation for the antivirus software to know the method to disable the email scanning. Also, make sure your firewall is allowing the scanner software to connect to the Internet.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, Steve and Clark. The next time I run into this I will turn off my firewall, anti-spam and antivirus (I use Norton Security Suite.) Here is some more info and answers to your questions:

  1) I don't think its a blocked port. As I mentioned, it sometimes works without any explanation. For example, after I posted the original post yesterday morning, I was able to send e-mails to the "bad" domain all afternoon and all day today. I have not been able to identify a patter for when it does/doesn't work.

  2) It happens for large as well as very small messages. Size doesn't seem to have any effect.

  3)  I have no problem sending the same e-mail from webmail.

Thanks. More later.

Steve & Clark:

After two days of the problem not recurring, it started again last night.

I turned off Norton Smart Firewall and also turned off Norton Identity Protection, but this did not fix the issue. The e-mails to the people in this ONE domain still remain stuck in the Outbox.

Thanks,

Sorry about that. If you suspect that Norton is causing the issue, you can uninstall your Norton and check if the issue reoccurs. We can help you to reinstall your Norton back. Let me know if you need any help.

Thanks!
