E-mail Address Policies on Exchange 2007 server in Exchange 2003 site
We're getting close to getting all ourExchange 2003 mailboxes movedover to our new Exchange 2007 server. We've got a question about E-mail Address Policies on our newExchange 2007 server. We can see that theExchange 2003policies are notapplied in our Exchange 2007 server in Organization Configuration > Hub Transport > E-mail Address Policies. We'd like to create an addressing policy but we're concerned about how we've seen it affectnewly created Contacts. This morning, we created a new Contact to forward mail to a users external e-mail address. We configured the User Mailbox to forward e-mail to this newly created Contact but found that nothing was getting forwarded. Looking at the Contact we noticed that it had the "Automatically update e-mail addresses based on e-mail address policy" box checked on the E-Mail Addresses tab. Checking this boxadded another SMTP address to the Contact with our internal domain name extension. Once we remove the checkbox and removed the offending SMTP address, mailstarted forwarding. We'd like to create a policy to correctly configure our e-mail addressing but not have it affect our Contact creation. Is this possible?Orange County District Attorney
