Duplicated Outlook folders
Hi Experts,
One of my VP users is running into some issues. He recently got all Common folders duplicated. Duplicates visible via OWA, MFCMAPI, etc
Troubleshooting steps taken
Tried turning cached mode off , tried moving mailbox, no help.
User has a test .pst attached, though no items in it.
Can anyone point me on the right direction?

Was something recently imported on to it ?
Any changes done on the user side?
Why not just delete the duplicate entries (they are empty right?)

Thanks for the quick reply
I would like to know the root cause of this problem, other than deleting the duplicate entries
Any other ideas?

Move all mails to a PST.
Then try
Outlook /resetfoldernames
Resets default folder names (such as Inbox or Sent Items ) to default names in the current Office user interface language.
Outlook /resetfolders
Restores missing folders for the default delivery location.

Please can anyone explain to me the root cause of this issue?
Thank you in advance

The possible cause I can find is, the discrepancy in the replid map in memory on both the Exchange server and in Jet database
“Some users that have experienced the crashing problem have also encountered problems with
duplicate default folders, delegate issues, as well as Free/Busy problems”

Hi James,
Thanks for the link, but user is on Exchange 2007 server.
Do you have an article that applies for Exchange 2007/Outlook 2007?
Thank you in advance

I’m not find one that applies to exchange 2007. However, the same basic reason stands: the difference (discrepancy) between the replid mapping
in the memory and the one in the databaseJames Luo
