Duplicate LegacyExchangeDN causing email problem.
Recently we have noticed an message that bounces back when trying to email some users that says... "There is a problem with the recipient's e-mail system. More than one person has this e-mail address. The recipient's system administrator will have to fix this problem . " After researching, we've noticed that there is another user (actually the same person) with same LegacyExchangeDN property. Whats strange is that we can only see both objects (pre-existing and current user) when we run something like CSVDE to export the list from Active Directory... All the attributes from the old object are referring back to the old exchange server name and mailbox database before we migrated from exchange 2003 to 2010. When we look directly into AD Users and Computers/ADSIedit we cannot find the object. We believe this issue may have occurred when migrating from Exchange 2003 to 2010 awhile back, but who knows.. We only see 3 users with this problem so far.. If we can only delete the old object, that would be great.. Thanks.

What Distinguished Name (DN) do you see for the two objects when you run CSVDE?Tony www.activedir.org blog:www.open-a-socket.com

You can use LDP to change the legacyExchangeDN value on the user object you don't want to keep. If you see the object in CSVDE you already have the distinguished name of the object so you should be avle to find it easily with ADSIEDIT (if you're not familiar with LDP) and effect the change of the legacyExchangeDN property value. --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP

I used ADSIedit and was looking on the wrong domain controller... It must have been a replication issue. I found the object and deleted it. Thanks.
